“The Association and its Members look forward to working with Rob to continue our efforts in regulatory reform, best practice and stakeholder engagement,” Mr Angwin said.

Mr Atkinson replaces outgoing Chairman Mr Dean Dalla Valle, who heads BHP Billiton’s uranium business. Mr Dalla Valle will continue as a Director of the Association.

Mr Angwin said the Association had thanked Mr Dalla Valle warmly for his significant contribution as Chairman since April 2009.

“Our industry has benefitted greatly from Dean’s insights and guidance. I am certain Dean will continue to provide the industry with wise counsel as immediate past Chairman,” Mr Angwin said.

“These are challenging times for all resource sectors, given the proposed changes to Australia’s resource taxation system. The uranium industry will rely on the leadership of Rob and Dean to steer our way past the coming challenges,” Mr Angwin said.
